22 Inch Wild Brown Trout - Adirondack Retreats

This was a 22 inch brown caught last year at my place in the Adirondacks. You can watch me catch it on my youtube videos. Now to the point of this post. I have been getting reports from all along the Finger Lakes about the rainbows moving up the feeders and this would be a really good weekend to go get them. The very late spring this year has held the runs up till now and with all the rain recently, if I was not going to the Adirondacks this weekend, I would be starting the day on one of the feeders and then stream fishing for browns in the afternoon. One report came from a non fisherman said that he stood on a bridge over the inlet to Owasco Lake and said he watched big rainbows come up steady all day. This is a prime year to spend the first weeks after these hard fighting fish. They are so much fun in small streams and it takes a late spring to have a good chance at them. Worms and egg sacks are a real good bet.
