Prototype for new medical device

We are very clever and inventive here at Adirondack Retreats. This is my cover that I created for my cast on my broken ankle. It was made from an old seat cover on a school bus seat. Considering how wet and muddy it was up here last week this thing kept my cast dry, mosquito free and free of dirt. This is the way we think up here and you can expect this outside the box thinking to put you in front of some of the best trout fishing in the country. Conditions are beginning to stabilize and with the warming temperatures the trout are going to go crazy. With this being one of the wettest springs on record I am willing to bet that the trout have migrated up into ditches behind the cow barns. These are mostly wild fish here and may people would be amazed at how much these fish move around on high water. With so many streams and rivers here no matter what Mother Nature delivers, we have a an informed response! Life is finite and good health a gift, treat yourself to a trip up here soon.

There is going to be an explosion.

Of insect activity that is. Due to the high water all spring there has been a subdued amount of  insect activity this spring but with the temps now starting to warm up in the ADKs, when the record rains let up the bugs are going to go beserk. That includes the biting ones. If you love to fly fish then this is your region with all streams up here being influenced by the ancient outcroppings of limestone, the result is streams and rivers with a ph that is perfect for the insects that trout love to devour. Hatches here some times take on biblical proportions and there is always something zipping around. This is also the perfect environment for bait fish and this all adds up to super strong and healthy trout with some of them demonstrating corpulent body dimensions. Song birds serenade you as you fly fish in remote settings and this is right here in NY. No need to go to some expensive and distant location when amazing trout fishing is right here within a days drive.

Noahs Arks, let us build one for you!

The northern Adirondacks and most of NYS are experiencing the wettest spring on record. Lake Champlain is at all time record heights with people who live a p to a 1/2 mile from the lake taking on water. Just got back from a trip up there and soggy is the best word to describe it. My two guests did manage to get in one days fishing before the rivers went crazy again. They were the first people to fish this year, that is how high it has been up here and that lasted for one day. They did get some nice ones however. They caught several brookies, two 16 inch browns and one brown that was over 20 inches, so all factors considered they did pretty well. The meals as usual were amazing and one of my local Sherpa guides brought down some homemade horseradish and pickled leeks those in conjunction with some smoked , Lake Ontario brown trout augmented the other delicacies nicely. I dare say that as soon as the weather breaks that the fishing is going to be amazing and so are the insect hatches including the biting ones. With how wet it is, I am anticipating great fishing well into July and August. This is your Adirondack bear signing off for now.
