We Love Kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CLICK ON ANY PICTURE TO ENLARGE IT. This is what is all about. This 12 year old girls father is a friend of my head guide, David Versendy, and they brought her in for her first trout fishing trip this weekend. What a way to break her into fly fishing as she smoked them under Dad and Davids careful instruction. From her first fish to the last the smile is bigger than the camera lens. The first trout was 12 inches and the last was 19 with a lot of in between landed and missed. It was an amazing introduction to trout fishing and the smile on my face is as big as hers, even though I wasn’t there, as I am typing this post. I am lucky to have an amazing trout fishery and this is the cherry on top of it to see a young lady enjoy a memory that she will carry to the grave. I was praying that she would have a couple of days like this and she can’t wait to come back. At the same time she was here I had a father and two sons here also and they smoked them also. They were with another guide, Rich Garfield and I don’t have the pictures yet but he said they had some 20 inch fish on in addition to the 16-18 inch fish that they landed and numerous up and coming combatants. He also said that the dad had one on that looked to be over 24 inches. This is what my venue is all about not only is it world class trout fishing in a pristine setting but also a great place to bring a son or daughter on a unique adventure. I had to laugh when her dad called me as I was preparing this post and he told me how she was so excited to go that it was midnight before she went to bed and when he got up at 4 she was sitting in the dark dressed and ready to go. I think we all can fondly remember those days. My home river is an extremely technical situation with a high priority on nymphing and this exemplifies the skills of my guides to be able to put novice fishermen into high quality trout action. I love having adult fishermen in but this weekend in my mind was about as good as it gets and makes all the work I have done here carving this little spot out of the wilderness oh so worth while. I preach hunting, fishing, conservation and preservation and this is the culmination of this philosophy. We are here for you and would love to put your kids into a picture.
