Huge June Brown Trout with Fly Fish the Adirondacks’ Rich Garfield

Late May and Early June have been incredible here in the northern Adirondacks.  The river is running perfect, with a nice mix of overcast and bluebird days, and enough rain to keep the levels fishable and big brown trout out on patrol.  The best fishing has been right around Papa Bear’s camp here – not 100 feet from the fireplace!  Checkout the images courtesy of guide Rich Garfield at Fly Fish the Adirondacks:

A few of these show unusual markings that forever make them a little extra special. Note the tiger stripe markings on this first one, he must have been living under a wrought iron fence. The second one must have suffered some severe facial trauma when it was young and ended up with a door stop for a lower jaw and an upper jaw that any witch would be proud to have for a nose.
