Adirondack Trout Fishing Update – July 2, 2013

Papa Bear is currently up in the northern Adirondack region of New York State for an extended trip, of course without internet access. But where there’s a will – there’s a way to provide conditions updates from within the nerve center of the most remote wild trout fishing center in the area. For the next several weeks the ol’ master will be updating the stream reports via voicemail.

Current conditions: Poor

River Height: Very High

River Clarity: Off Color

Significant Hatches: None

Trout Activity Report: Heavy rains have kept things very subdued. The great fishing from earlier in the week tells us huge trout are stuffed in the river but flood conditions make it just about impossible to fish. The smaller rivers in the area are performing much better as they are at more fishable levels. As the main river drops, we’re confident things will pop at Adirondack Retreats offering a great early month of July for trout fishing.
